The weather gods were playing with us again. The entire day of August 30th was spent inside, waiting for a storm to blow over, and playing cards.

Finally, at the 11th hour,we arose to find the caldera completely open and clear. The storm of the previous day had wiped out the fog and left clear skies -- for the first, and only, time on this entire excursion to Okmok.

Not only would we be able to work on OKSO, but we could examine another station we'd been meaning to look at... OKWR (West Rim), which is perpetually in clouds.
