Solid Earth Geophysics:
T
he REU program funded by the NSF, provides an opportunity for full-time undergraduates majoring in geology, geophysics, physics, or related physical science programs to gain research experience in the field of Solid Earth Geophysics.

Research fields include seismology, volcanology, paleomagnetism, geochronology, geochemistry, geodesy, structural geology, tectonics and sedimentation, glacier, permafrost and sea ice studies, and remote sensing.

More information can be found here.

Space and Atmospheric Physics:

This program is funded by the National Science Foundation Program in Magnetospheric Physics.
Participating interns will be offered work such as mathematical analysis, computer programming, instrumentation, data analysis or field work. The programming may involve the development of graphical computer diagnostics.

Under the program, interns would be assigned to work under the supervision of a faculty member and be given a project which can be completed in the 10 weeks duration of an intern's partipation in the program.

More information on the space and atmospheric physics program can be found here.
