  1. Borrow sports equipment, movies, tv's and other random stuff from the dorm office. Lathrop has a pool table in the basement and a large screen TV in the lounge. There are video games, ping pong tables, and a darkroom in the Wood Center.
  2. Buy a summer membership to the gym (the cost varies- rumor has it the price drops if you show some leg...:)
  3. Mosquito hunting
  4. Pan for gold (El Dorado gold mine/tourist trap in Ester)
  5. $3.50 Monday night specials at the movies
  6. UAF OUTDOOR ADVENTURES
  7. Midnight Sun Run (...and steal the balloon arch, cut the course, etc.)
  8. Midnight Sun Goldpanners Baseball Game (played at 10:30PM on June 21 without lights)
  9. Hiking (everywhere- Angel Rocks, etc.)
  10. Whitewater rafting in Denali National Park
  11. Camping (everywhere)
  12. Biking
  13. Fishing (you can buy a license in the Wood Center and poles and bait in town)
  14. Canoeing
  15. Rent a car / crack a windshield
  16. Farmer's Market
  17. Tanana Valley State Fair
  18. World Eskimo Indian Olympics (held in mid-July with wild events)
  19. "1st Annual Intern Olympics"
  20. Alaskaland (nearby borough park with small historic museums, shops, games and the Salmon Bake)
  21. Berry picking (see Jeff Freymueller in the seismology dept.)
  22. Baking (great pies with fresh berries and mmmm.... chocolate chip cookies...)
  23. Knitting (not sure how this one started, but it was a near-epidemic)
  24. 11PM VOLLEYBALL!!! Every night!
  25. Ultimate frisbee tournament
  26. Potluck dinners
  27. BBQ out front
  28. Visit the Musk Oxen!
  29. UAF Museum
  30. Rock climbing
  31. Golden Days Week!
  32. Riverboat Discovery cruise down the Chena and Tanana rivers
  33. Lunch Bites- the free Fairbanks music festival held at UAF in early August
  34. Buy food by the metric ton at Sam's Club
  35. Aurora hunting (in vain)
  36. Sample the Buffalo burgers at the Food Cache in Delta Junction
  37. 4th of July celebration in McCarthy, AK plus glacier and flightseeing tours
  38. Drive on fumes until you reach the Hub in Glenallen
  39. Go off-roading in rental cars in search of glaciers
  40. Learn to fall asleep (with your mouth open) on the bumpiest roads known to man
  41. Take advantage of free stuff they are constantly giving out
  42. Bun On The Run for lunch (or breakfast)
  43. Model all the puffy winter snowsuits in Beaver Sports
  44. Wolf Run and Hot Licks for dessert
  45. 2-HEADED CARIBOU CALF
  46. Enjoy the commercialism of Christmas all year in North Pole
  47. Oh, yeah, and learn a lot.
