Things to Do

There's so much to do in Fairbanks and Alaska. Here's a partial list, in no particular order.

Go on a trip with the UAF Student Activities Outdoor Adventures.
Run with the Fairbanks Running Club North.
Run in Fairbanks' biggest summer race Midnight Sun Run 10K.
Ride with the Fairbanks Cycling Club.
Go to the Tanana Valley State Fair.
Rent a car (try Aurora Motors, 459-7000) and go somewhere!
Get cultured at the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival.
Get drunk with the faculty on Fridays to the Pump House.
Watch an outdoor performance by the Fairbanks Shakespeare Theatre (457-7638).
Go to the UAF Museum.
Go see a movie at Goldstream Cinemas (456-5113). They're only $3.50 on Monday nights and weekend matinees!
Buy a summer membership ($50) to the Student Recreation Center gym.
Go to a Midnight Sun Goldpanners baseball game (late June to early July).
Check out Alaskaland. Warning: it's a tourist trap.
Play volleyball with people in the dorm.
Bake bread, pies, cookies, cinnamon rolls, etc (or have Nate do it).
Blow all of your money away at Beaver Sports (479-2494).
Go contra dancing at Alaskaland (late July to early August).
Go pick berries. They're everywhere!
Buy your clothes at Value Village.
Buy fresh food at the Farmer's Market (457-4663).
Go to Fred's for EVERYTHING.
Check out the World Eskimo Indian Olympics (mid to late July).
Eat ice cream and buffalo burgers at the Food Cache in Delta Junction.
Go to Hot Licks (479-7813), a lot.
Go to Kennicot and McCarthy if you get the chance.
Oh yeah, learn something from your job too.
